This Whistler renovation started with an existing small 'Swiss-style' chalet that used to be prevalent in the 'old' Whistler. The original footprint of the building was kept but the main roof ridge was rotated ninety degrees and extended in several directions. A new skewed Living / Dining Room was added on the upper floor to capture a wonderful view of Whister Mountain, with a small side deck to allow for morning coffees while gazing at the distant ski runs. The floor below has a double car Garage with a generous work area for tuning skis and other equipment.
A small self-contained suite was added to the side on the ground floor, as well as a generous deck at the back for apres ski entertaining around the hot tub, and an upper deck was created extending a lounge area off a new 'chill' room for the kids. The Master Bathroom has a pop-out window encouraging leisurely soaks in the bathtub with another nice view of Whistler Mountain.
